ComQual 1.5 brings improvements to the management of actions and checklists, new configuration options, and some changes to the interface and exports.
Actions: configurable types and distinct workflows
Every action now has a type, chosen when it is opened. The type determines how the action is closed: with a final verification by the supervisor, or directly by the responsible user.
There are four preconfigured types: Corrective action, Improvement action, Risk mitigation action (all with verification) and Task (without verification, typically used as a sub-action). The administrator can rename them, add new ones, and enable or disable the available ones.
Roles and responsibilities: revised rules for actions and checklists
The assignment rules and the permissions tied to the roles of actions and checklists have been revised and expanded. They are now defined more precisely and can be configured more flexibly.
For actions, the supervisor is the process guarantor and, where the action type requires it, carries out the final verification before closing. The responsible user chooses who to involve, coordinates the work, and decides when the objective has been reached. The involved users support the responsible user in the activity. The informed users receive automatic updates on progress.
The same set of roles applies to checklists. You can configure predefined supervisors for each checklist type: they, together with managers, are the only ones who can schedule activities. For non-scheduled activities, you can precisely define which users are authorized to start them.
For actions and every checklist type it is now also possible to define a list of predefined informed users: users who are automatically added to every new opening, without having to select them manually each time.
Creating linked records directly from an item's detail card
On the detail card of a register item, the lists showing linked issues, actions, checklists, or items from another register can now include a + button to create a new record of the same type directly from the current page, without having to navigate elsewhere. The button is optional and must be enabled by the administrator for each list.
Data and Documents: customizable item names
For each register in Data and Documents you can now customize the name of its items, which until now was always "Item". For example, if a register is the supplier register its items can be called "Supplier", if it is the equipment register "Equipment", and so on.
Other improvements
- "Slider selector" field (formerly "Range"): renamed and improved - the selected value now stays visible in the edit form, with the minimum and maximum values shown next to the slider.
- Checklist header completion: the options for determining, for each field, who can edit it, whether it is required, and when it must be filled in have been revised.
- Rich text fields in Markdown: rich text fields are exported to Excel in Markdown format, easier for people to read and easier to process with AI tools.
- Documented REST API via Swagger UI, to facilitate integration work.
This version includes fixes for the reported issues and other internal technical improvements.
