Access and roles

Logging in

When you open ComQual you are redirected to the authentication page, where you enter your email address and password. Once authenticated, the system takes you back to the application automatically.

The same credentials are valid for all ComQual services: the application, the website and any future service on the platform. If you are already authenticated, you are recognised automatically on the other services too, without having to enter your credentials again.

If you have forgotten your password, click Forgotten password? on the login page to receive the reset link by email.

If you have access to more than one subscription (for example a consultant working with several clients), you can switch between them by clicking the company name in the top bar: a pop-up opens with the list of available subscriptions, from which you select the one to make active.

Global and functional roles

To understand who can do what in ComQual it helps to keep two distinct levels of role in mind.

The global role (user, manager, administrator) is unique to each person and applies to the whole application: it determines which features you have access to.

Role What it involves
All users Access to the basic features. They can become supervisors or responsible users on individual issues or activities, if assigned.
Manager Carries out non-conformance assessments, schedules actions and checklists, and can change the people assigned to each functional role of an issue, action or checklist.
Administrator Configures the application (see Administrator manual).

The functional roles (responsible, supervisor, involved, informed) are assigned on the individual issue, action or checklist and determine what can be done in that particular context. The same person can be responsible on one issue and simply informed on another.

Features reserved for managers are marked in the text with the tag Managers.
